The construction of two combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) will be implemented in cooperation with a consortium of South Korean companies Hyundai Engineering and Hyundai Engineering & Construction based on modern advanced technologies, Trend reports referring Ministry of Energy.
Special headquarters of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan visited the Takhiatash TPP in the Karakalpakstan Republic in order to analyze the progress of preparations for the autumn-winter period 2020-2021.
To date, the region is implementing the construction of two combined cycle gas turbines with a total capacity of 560 MW at the Takhiatash TPP.
The commissioning of the CCGT unit will fully meet the electricity needs of the population of the Karakalpakstan Republic and the Khorezm region.
With the commissioning of two CCGT units with a capacity of 230-280 MW each and the withdrawal of 310 MW from the existing units, the technical and economic indicators of the station will amount as follows:
- the installed capacity of the station will increase from 730 MW to 1003 MW;
- the annual power generation of the station will increase from 3 billion kWh to 3.6 billion kWh;
- the annual demand for water resources will decrease from 452 million m3 to 159 million m3;
- the specific consumption of the equivalent fuel for the generation of electrical energy will decrease by 164.3 g / kWh (the current specific consumption of the equivalent fuel is 430.3 g / kW * h, with the launch of two CCGT units - 266.0 g / kW * h), which will give saving natural gas by 488 million m3 per year.
Today the 280 MW combined cycle unit No. 1 is connected to the power system and is operating in test mode.
All construction work at the steam-gas unit No. 2 has been completed. To ensure the full-fledged operation of the unit, tests and commissioning works are carried out together with foreign specialists.
