Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec.21 / Trend H. Veliyev /
Production Unit "Baku Telephone Communications" of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies will put into operation a new automatic telephone station with an index of 597, the Baku Telephone Communications told Trend.
Commissioning of the new automated telephone exchange (ATE) will increase the numerical capacity of the operator's network to 10,000 units.
The station is being built on the base of the Next Generation Network - (NGN), which allows the operator to provide, along with traditional telecommunications services, IP-telephony services, broadband Internet and IP-TV.
January 2011 can expect changes in telephone numeration in the zone of the ATEs 494/495. After completing the reconstruction of these ATEs, subscribers' new telephone numbers will begin with "5", while preserving other existing numbers. Each subscriber will receive notification about the switch-over and the new telephone number.
At present, the operator is conducting a phased switching of subscribers from analog ATEs 494/495 to new electron ATEs.
The technical re-equipment of the physically and morally outdated stations brings on board modern electron ATEs . This allows operators to significantly improve the quality of communication, completely replace the blocked (paired) numbers, and render new services to subscribers.
