Two Russian airlines granted pemission to launch flights to Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency has granted permission for two airlines to operate flights from Russia to Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenportal information portal.

North Wind Airlines received permission to fly five times a week on the Moscow-Ashgabat route, and IrAero Airlines — seven times a week (from St. Petersburg to Ashgabat).

Meanwhile, granting access stands separate from the decision to resume flights to Turkmenistan, which were suspended earlier due to the coronavirus pandemic concerns.

The admission is the right of the airline, which it will be able to use when resuming flights.

As reported, Turkmenistan and Russia cooperate in the transport sector. Also, the possibility of implementing joint projects in the transport sector was recently noted.
