Iran's air traffic falls in six months

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 11. Over 145,000 passenger planes landed at and took off from Iranian airports during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Trend reports.

Data from Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC) shows that this is a decrease of 4.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, the number of flights via Iran’s airports exceeded 153,000 in the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, a total of 301,403 passenger planes landed/took off from Iranian airports over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023). This is an increase of 5.44 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).

There are 54 civil active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
