Kazakhstan registered 497,013 passenger cars for January-August of 2017 or 13.3% more than in the corresponding period of the last year.
The number of registered cars amounted to 3.92 million units in Kazakhstan as of September 1, 2017.
For eight months of the current year, there were 10,587 road accidents, in which 15,140 people were injured. The accident rate decreased by 8.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
As of September 1, 2017, insurance companies for compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners made 46,485 insurance payments worth 15.7 billion tenges.
Kazakhstan registered 643,581 cars were in 2016, which is less by 11.9 percent compared to 2015.
As of January 1, 2017, 67,076 insurance payments totaling worth 22.7 billion tenges were made by insurance organizations for compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners.
