Turkmenistan and the U.S will have the opportunity to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation, Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The prospects for bilateral cooperation in the textile industry, trade, energy, transportation, construction, agriculture and other sectors of the national economic complex will be discussed during the Turkmen-American business forum in Ashgabat, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov told participants of the second exhibition of the U.S. companies and the Turkmen-American business Forum today, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reported.
"This forum will contribute to the expansion of the two countries' opportunities in trade, economic and investment spheres," the president's statement said. "This will be a worthy contribution to the development of cooperation at an intercontinental level."
He said that at present Turkmen-U.S relations based on principles of equality and mutual trust enter a new phase of development.
"Speaking about the importance of implementing large scale projects in the investment area, education, transport and communication, agriculture, oil and gas and food industries and the national tourist zone Avaza, I would like to mention the great prospects for development of business contacts in the tourism industry," the president said.
He said that the exhibition and business forum start work in the Turkmen capital today. This is clear evidence of the further promotion of bilateral cooperation.
"This exhibition has an important role to play in enhancing the long term trade and economic ties between our two countries, expanding partnerships with American producers and attracting investments of the friendly country into the Turkmen national economy," he said.
