BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Turkmenistan and Iran have reopened the joint border market of Bajgiran - Godan, Trend reports via “Business Turkmenistan” news agency.

The border market has opened after 34 months of downtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before the temporary closure of the market, Turkmenistan annually imported Iranian goods worth more than $4 million and exported to Iran - in the amount of $500,000.

Meanwhile, the Bajgiran - Godan border market is of great importance in the cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Iranian Razavi Khorasan province.

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Iran (excluding crude oil) for the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22) amounted to $142.84 million.
