Iran is in the midst of building five new terminals along its borders as it works to increase trade with its neighbors.

One of the customs terminals currently being built is Chazabeh on the border with Iraq in the south-eastern province of Khuzestan, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) quoted Iranian Deputy Roads Minister Shahryar Efendi-zade saying.

Scheduled to be finished by the end of summer, Chazabeh will serve as a customs point for both passengers and goods.

Meanwhile a location is being designed for Khuzestan's Shalamcheh terminal and work has started on the Kermanshah Province's Parvizkhan station in western Iran.

To the east, the Lotfabad customs terminal will locate on the Iran-Turkmenistan border in the Khorasan Razavi Province, while a checkpoint in the South Khorasan will serve Afghanistan.

As the work is being done on the new customs points, there are temporary facilities to help move the flow of passengers and goods entering and leaving Iran.
