Community incomes
As a result of January to October 2006 net incomes of Azerbaijani population made up 8339.2mln manats, or 21.9% more than 10 months of 2005. Per capita incomes comprised 998 manats with a rise of 20.5%. Average per capita income was 9 manats a month.
Increase in community incomes was result of rise of average monthly salaries of employees of some state bodies in Azerbaijan in January and August, as well as rise in the number of employed, stable income source of of in the form salary.

In January to October of 2006 the community expenses were distributed in the following way: 71.1% on, purchase of goods and services, 11.6% - obligatory payment and fees, 18.3% - purchase of foreign currency and increase of savings.
Real community incomes after the payment of taxes and membership fees, made up 7374.3mln manats, or 22.5% more than last year. Real per capita community income made up 882.5 manats with rise of 21.1%.
Thus, in the fist 9 months of 2006 the community expenses comprised 6811.7mln manats, or 22.5% up than expenses in January to September of 2005 (5561.4mln manats). The community incomes exceeded expenses by 1527.5m manats, which implies for accumulation of funds

Salary
Thus, the amount of average monthly salary in Azerbaijan as a result of January to October 2006 comprised 139.5 manats, or 19.8% more than 2005. Despite of increase in salaries of several categories of employees financed out of the public budget in the country, there is still a difference in this indicator throughout the country. The highest salary rate was fixed in extractive industry, as well as financial, leasing and commerce, construction sectors. In accordance with the presidential decree, since 1 October 2006 the salaries eductaionempyes were increased 25%.
Average monty salary of the employees of the extractive industry was 650 manats (rise 34.3%), oil refinery 140 manats (rise 23.5%), production and distribution of gas and water 143 manats (rise 24.9%). Average monthly salary of the employees was 266 manats with a rise of 27.6%. At the same time the salaries of employees involved in agriculture was 50.2 manats.
In January to September (the data are provided with a month-delay) the social payments paid at the job places made up 5.8 manats. Major part of benefits fell on employees of electricity gas and water supply, transport, store economy, communications and education
Pension security
As of 1 October 2006 the State Social Security Fund has registered 1185,500 pensioners and their monthly comprised 36.1 manats.
The average monthly pension rose following the relevant decrees by the President and comprises 35 manats.
Some 66% of all pensioners received pensions for age, 23% - for disability, 11% - for loss of bread-winner.
In accordance with the data provided by the State Social Security Fund, as of 1 October 2006 some 377.9mln manat was spent on payment of pensions. Expenses for pensions made up 367.3mln manats, including 97.4% or 357.8mln manats in expenses for payment lahor pensions

As of 1 October, 20,300 citizens were allocated benefits for age, 84,100 citizens for disability. Moroever, the benefits were allocated for 24,100 citixzens due to loss of breadwinner and 48,500 children and disabled under 16.
As of 1 October, 164,000 citizens received targeted social aid in the amount of 1,640,900 manats, 10 manats per one.
Labor market
As to situation in the labor market in Azerbaijan in January to October 2006, a season of labor fairs continued.
The Employment Department of the Ministry said that in this period the Ministry has held 54 labor fairs in different regions of the country, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. A total of 1,979 enterprises with 19,643 jobs participated in the labor fairs and 4,905 people have been employed.
Over 9 months of 2006 a total of 13,600 new jobs have opened in west part of Azerbaijan, including 7,500 permanent jobs.
In accordance with official statistics, as of 1 November 2006 a total of 3960,800 economically active people were employed in the Azerbaijan, or 46.4% of all population.
As of 1 October 2006 a total of 54,417 people were registered at the employment services, whereas as of 1 October they have numbered 54,987 people, while on 1 August it was 55,295 and on1 June 55,557. It reveals a cut by 311 people, 0.57%. The similar tendency has been observed since April, when the number of officially unemployed reduced 1960.
Average unemployed benefit comprises 56.3 manats, which is 37.9 of average monthly salary of employees. 51.3% of all those receiving unemployed benefits were women. 4 people claimed at 1 vacancy.
