The preliminary hearing on the case of former Deputy Interior Minister and acting vice-mayor of Tbilisi Shota Khizanishvili and former deputy director of the Constitutional Security Department of Interior Ministry Vasil Leluashvili will take place at the Tbilisi City Court on Tuesday.
The Tbilisi City Court considered and granted the request of the prosecutor's office for the imprisonment of Vasil Leluashvili and Shota Khizanishvili as a preliminary measure of restraint on November 18, 2012. They were charged with abusing their authority and illegally obtaining private information.
When selecting the measure of restraint, the court took into account the severity of the charges against them as well as the possibility of their pressurising witnesses, and their past activities.
Based on the abovementioned factors, they were sentenced to two months imprisonment.
