The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is committed to supporting of Georgia in difficulties caused by the COVID-19 and encouragement of strong, sustainable and inclusive recovery, the President of the ERBD Odile Renaud-Basso said at the UN 26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Trend reports via press service of the Georgian government.
The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and the President of the EBRD discussed specific directions of possible cooperation in various sectors, as well as the significance of support towards small and medium enterprises (SME), which is vital for the resilience and inclusiveness of the economy.
The parties noted successful cooperation between the Government of Georgia and the EBRD, as it resulted in a number of significant projects implemented in the country.
I had a very good meeting with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Odile Renaud-Basso, in the framework of the 26 UN Climate Change Conference, Georgian PM wrote on his Twitter page.
“With the EBRD’s support, Georgia implemented a number of crucial reforms and hundreds of projects with a portfolio size of 4 billion euros,” Garibashvili said in a Twitter publication.
The role of the EBRD is critically important on the path of Georgia's economic transformation and European aspirations, Garibashvili added.
