Georgia-China trade turnover up

Georgia’s trade turnover with China from January through October 2021 amounted to $1.22 billion, compared to $991.7 million over the same period of 2020 – an increase of 23 percent year-on-year, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

China’s share in total Georgian trade turnover remained unchanged year-on-year – at 10.8 percent, the report said.

According to Geostat, Georgia's exports to China over the first 10 months of 2021 amounted to $520.5 million, which is an increase of 24.3 percent, compared to $418.5 million over the same period of 2020.

Georgia's imports from China from January through October 2021 totaled $705.2 million – an increase of 23 percent, compared to $572.9 million over the reporting period of 2020.

China remained one of the TOP-3 of Georgian trade turnover partners in the reporting period of 2021, alongside Turkey ($1.6 billion) and Russia ($1.29 billion).

Meanwhile, Georgian total foreign trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) from January through October 2021 amounted to $11.3 billion, which is 23 percent more than over the same period of 2020 – $9.1 billion.
