China is ready to establish a Ministry of the Environment in order to strengthen environmental protection, said in the plan of reform of the structures of the State Council of the People's Republic of China submitted for consideration at the first session of the 13th National People's Congress on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
The new ministry will be responsible for the development and implementation of policies, plans and standards for the environmental environment, monitoring of the environmental environment and enforcement in the said area.
It will also be responsible for control over environmental pollution, nuclear and radiation safety, and organize inspections of central authorities on environmental issues.
