The Chief of General Staff of Israeli Defense Forces Monday called the Turkish chief of General Staff regarding the developments in the East Mediterranean, Anadolu Agency reported.
The Turkish General Staff posted an information note on its web-page in which it said the Israeli Chief of Staff called Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug to brief him on the developments in the East Mediterranean.
Turkey's Chief of General Staff told his Israeli counterpart that use of military force in international waters was grave and unacceptable.
"Intervening in the situation this way has caused serious results," the statement quoted Gen. Basbug as saying during the phone talk.
Israeli navy forces raided a convoy of aid ships of Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza, killing more than 10 people and injuring 30 others.
The IDF Chief of General Staff is Gabi Ashkenazi.
