Volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish Port of Mersin disclosed

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish Port of Mersin amounted to 8.9 million tons from January through March 2020, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on May 8.

According to the ministry, during the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag through the port of Mersin amounted to 534,087 tons, and by ships flying the flag of other countries – 8.4 million tons.

“Some 170,707 tons of cargo were transited via Port of Mersin from January through March 2020,” the ministry said.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo carried by ships via Turkish ports amounted to over 94.6 million tons.

The volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 7.4 million tons from January through March 2020, the ministry said.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 3.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 83.1 million tons from January through March 2020.

Over the reporting period, 18.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 32.1 million tons in March 2020.

The volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.8 million tons in March 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 1.3 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 27.9 million tons.

According to the ministry, 5.9 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
