A skirmish between Syrian refugees and police has taken place on the Syrian-Turkish checkpoint of Akchakale in the Turkish province of Shanliurfa, Sabah newspaper reported on Thursday.
A group of Syrian refugees, who were refused entry to Turkey due to problems with documents, opened fire on police and border guards. As a result, seven people were injured including three policemen, two soldiers and two civilians.
Ambulances and additional security forces were sent to the scene.
