List of Residents of Azerbaijani District who were Employed on Construction of Collapsed Building in Baku

Azerbaijan, Lankaran / corr Trend P.Aliyeva / Sultanaga Bakhshiyev, an official of the authorities of Arjivan village of Astara District, has presented Trend with a list of residents who were sent to Baku to work on the construction of a building which collaped on 28 August. Over 8,500 people reside in the Arjivan village.

A building which was under construction by Mutaffakir company at the intersection of Nakhchivani and Mukhtarov Streets collapsed on 28 August at 17:00 hours. Initial accounts revealed that gross violation of construction rules caused its collapse. According to official reports, the death toll has reached 12. Due to the extent of their injuries, it has not been possible to identify some of the victims.

Ali Muradov, Director of Mutafakkir Company, and three senior officials have been arrested in connection with the incident.
