Summit of CIS State Heads to Take Place in Dushanbe

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. S. Agayeva / The Summit of the State Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will begin on 5 October in Dushanbe. The agenda of the meeting includes nineteen issues, including the Future Development Conception of the CIS and Plan of Measures on its implementation, proposals on coordinated immigration policy of the CIS participating countries, etc.

Presidents of the CIS countries will sign the Agreement on Education of the Council of Heads of Migration Organizations of the CIS Member-Countries, the Protocol approving the Regulation on Interaction of the Border and other Organizations of the CIS Countries, the Agreement on Fighting against Legalization (laundering) of Criminal Revenues and Financing of Terrorism, the Program of Cooperation in Fighting against Criminality and Terrorism, the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS Countries in Fighting against Misappropriation of the Cultural Values and Ensuring their Returning, etc.

Azerbaijan will be represented at the Summit in a high level capacity, with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, attending the meeting of the Council of the CIS State Heads. Aliyev plans to hold a number of meetings with his counterparts of the other CIS countries.
