Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 March / Trend corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ In February, the Azerbaijani State Border Service prevented the import of over 21kg of illegal drugs into the country, the State Border Service reported on 4 March.
The border Service detained 63 people who were wanted.
Three vessels and three boats owned by Azerbaijan were impounded in the Caspian Sea for violation of navigation regulations.
Last month, 43 smuggling cases worth a total of AZN 181,903 were prevented. Twenty border violation cases were prevented, as a result of which 20 were detained. Ten of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, nine from Iran, five from Russia, three from Georgia, three from Iraq, one from Turkey and one from South Korea.
Another 47 people were detained for border violations- 13 didn't have the necessary documents, 54 didn't have a visa, and 23 were detained because of an out of date visa.
