Azerbaijani Parliament’s MP Group to Visit Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 March /corr. Trend I. Alizadeh/ The MP group of Musavat party, representing the opposition in the Azerbaijani parliament, will pay a visit to the Borchali region (Kvemo-Kartli) in Georgia densely populated with Azerbaijanis. "The visit is aimed to get familiarized with the problems of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia, and holding of the discussions with the country officials concerning the solution of these problems," Panah Huseyn, the member of the Musavat MP group said to Trend on 12 March. The members of Musavat MP group visited Georgia in 2007 as well.

"The visits to Borchali, in order to raise the issues, have already yielded certain results. The Georgian government decision, which required the school directors to have a good command of the Georgian language, caused certain problem in Borchali. As a result of out talks held with the government, the decision was canceled. There are a number of social problems which are now being solved gradually," the MP said. The date of visit is specified, he said.

The MP group of Musavat consists of 5 people.
