Georgian
Parliamentary Committee on European Integration chairman David Darchiashvili presented
a new initiative at today's meeting of the Georgian Parliament.
Relations between Georgia and the European Parliament have entered a phase when
it is possible to require establishing a separate committee on Georgia at the EU, he said.
"If Georgia requires an individual committee, it will be necessary to create committees
for the rest of the South Caucasus countries, and perhaps this will become an
obstacle," Georgian Parliament Speaker David Bakradze said, but welcomed the
initiative.
Parliamentary Committee on European Integration will work over the issue.
