Iranian vice-president visits South-African Republic

On May 8, the Iranian delegation led by Vice President Parviz Davudi left for the South-African Republic, the Iranian television reported.

During the visit, Davudi will participate in the ceremony of passing resolution on the president of South Africa. During a 5-day visit, Davudi will visit Tanzania and meet with the president of this country. Davudi is expected to visit the Zanzibar island, as well.

Before his visit, Davudi told journalists that the African continent is rich in natural resources and manpower. Iran is interested in expanding ties with African countries.

"Earlier, the presidents of Iran and the Republic of South Africa already had a fruitful discussion. The volume of trade turnover between Iran and the Republic of South Africa was $3.5 billion. The Republic of South Africa has many projects in Iran," Davudi said.

Davudi added he will sign several agreements in agriculture during his visit to Tanzania.
