A plan of bilateral cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries was signed at the meeting between Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev and Ukrainian Defense Minister Dmitriy Salamatin, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told Trend.
A meeting between Safar Abiyev and Dmitriy Salamatin was held on Monday.
Initially, a meeting of ministers was held in a larger format, and then ministers met in private.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister, addressing the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in various fields, said that this cooperation has been developing in the military and the military-industrial complex in recent years.
The sides exchanged views on the military and political situation in the region. Defense Minister Safar Abiyev noted that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is still not resolved as a result of the aggressive policy of Armenia.
He added that the Minsk group also did not produce any results.
Azerbaijan can not allow the continuation of the occupation, Abiyev said.
He noted that if the conflict is not resolved peacefully, the lands will be liberated by other means.
