Mirza Fatali Akhundov Monument before Azerbaijani School in Tbilisi
In Tbilisi before the Azerbaijani School named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov a monument to this famous Azerbaijani enlightener put up. As Trend reports, the monument was found and set up before the school according to the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Georgia and the special instruction of the President of Georgia.
It should be mentioned that the bust of M. F. Akhundov was made by painter G. Kadjaya and sculptor D. Morbeladze and was set in the Leselidze Street in Tbilisi in 1980s. After 10 years, because of an unknown reason it was put away. The Embassy of Azerbaijan to Georgia, the direction of the high school #173 named after M. F. Akhundov, the Azerbaijani community repeatedly addressed appropriate offices over 15 years in order the bust to be found and put up before the building of the school.
During the handing of credentials to the President of Georgia, the Azerbaijan new Ambassador to Georgia Namig Aliyev brought to his notice this issue along with other ones. According to the Georgian Presidents instruction the bust was found and set up before the school.
