Azerbaijani-Georgian interstate commission to come together in Batumi

Azerbaijani-Georgian interstate commission will meet in Batumi in middle of August, the special correspondent of Trend in Tbilisi reports with reference to Finance Minister of Georgia.

The agenda of the meeting will include the economical issues regarding cooperation in the spheres of energy, agriculture and finance. The main question of the agenda will b e dedicated to the agreement on restructuring of debits of Georgia to Azerbaijan and its signing.

According to the information provided by the ministry, Georgian side has already sent text project of the agreement to Baku. If all necessary procedures are carried in Baku, then nothing will prevent the signing of the document, the press center of Georgian Finance Ministry told.

The document deals with the debts of 1992-1993s, which emerged from two components technical credit and debt for provision of winter season. In 1997, the debts were concentrated, and after this, the Georgian sides started talks in Paris club on payment of a united debt before Azerbaijan. Part of debts that had to be paid off in 2001-2003 will be paid down in 2015-2018. Georgia doesnt exclude the opportunity of prolonging the payment of debts to the members of Paris club up to 2025-2027s.

On the other hand, the Georgian finance minister Aleksi Aleksvishli told Trend that taking into consideration the economical growth and finance flow of the country, such request may negatively affect the prestige of Georgia.
