MP Aydin Abbasov: Discussion of Azerbaijan Obligations in PACE Monitoring Committee Will Pass Normally

MP Aydin Abbasov, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, has exclusively informed Trend that he thinks that discussion of Azerbaijan obligation in the Monitoring Committee of PACE will pass normally.

The winter session of PACE will be held on January 22-26, 2007. Within the forthcoming session, a meeting of PACE Monitoring Commission, during which Azerbaijan entrance to the Council of Europe will be discussed.

Mr. Abbasov said that discussion of Azerbaijan obligations in the Monitoring Committee in December, 2006 passed normally. Both the Co-Rapporteurs and the Head of the PACE Monitoring Committee expressed their positive positions concerning Azerbaijan implementing the obligations taken upon itself. Therefore, Azerbaijan will face no troubles in this issue, said Mr. Abbasov.

According to him, Azerbaijan implemented its obligations to the Organization and this project is going on. It is going on a high level. Azerbaijan relations with the Council of Europe have been developed at a high level, he said.

Mr. Abbasov also said that the Head of the Azerbaijan delegation to PACE, Samad Seyyidov, and Azerbaijan MP Gultakin Hajjiyeva will take part in the meeting of the PACE Monitoring Committee.
