Azeri Foreign Minister Left for Kuwait on Official Visit

The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, left for Kuwait on an official visit. The visit has been scheduled for 20-21 January, Trend reports with reference to the press center of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kuwait, Shahin Abdullayev and Mammadyarov are expected to hold meetings at a high level, in particular with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Nasir al-Muhammad al-Ahmed al-Sabah, Chairman of the National Assembly, Jasem Muhammad al-Kharafi and heads of various ministries and state bodies.

The primary topic of the negotiations will be the prospects of the bilateral co-operation in many areas. The sides will organize debates on positive areas such as energy, economy, culture and humanitarian issues. According to the Ambassador, a protocol on consultations between the Foreign Ministries is expected to be signed at the Foreign Ministry of Kuwait as a result of the negotiations.

Abdullayev said that it is the first official visit of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to Kuwait.

On 22 January, the Minister will leave for Moscow, where on 23 January negotiations will be held between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, with the participation of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.
