Citizens of Europe, Asia, and Africa Detained at Azerbaijani Borders

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / Thirty-three trespassers were detained as a result of their infringements of state borders in July 2007. The State Frontier Service reported to Trend information agency that nine of the trespassers were citizens of Azerbaijan, nine from Afghanistan, seven from Georgia, four from Iran, one from Iraq, one from Russia, one from Belarus, and one from Nigeria.

Twenty-four trespassers were arrested for breaking the military plot of state frontier post, six for attempting to cross the border with false documents and three for attempting to cross the border with other people's passports.

Corresponding measures have been taken towards twenty-five Azerbaijani citizens, for breaking the rules at frontier posts, as well as forty-seven citizens of other countries who were arrested on frontier control posts due to absence of their documents, 101 citizens of Europe, Africa and Asia, due to absence of their visa.

Fifty-one persons, who had been wanted were arrested and transferred to law enforcers.
