Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / The current chairman of the Azerbaijan Communist Party (ACP) will nominate for chairmanship of the party during its 37th congress (the fourth congress of the new ACP). The precise date of the congress will be defined at the Plenum of party to be held on 22 September.
The party has no other alternative candidate besides the current Ramiz Ahmadov, one of ACP leaders, Rusiam Shahsuvarov, said. "The authority of Ramiz Ahmadov is very high in the party, therefore no one else will nominate," Shahsuvarov said.
He added that despite health problems Ahmadov normally ran the party and his disease would not impede him to nominate again.
The position of the First Deputy Chairman will be established at the congress, he said.
The party based on communistic ideology was founded in Azerbaijan in 1903, even before the October's Socialistic Revolution. The current ACP was founded in 1993. Since 1903, the party has held 37 congresses, since 1993 - 3. The 4th congress of the new ACP will take place in November.
Left-wing ACP considers itself to be constructive opposition.
