Playboy Prince Albert of Monaco to marry
(exposay.com) - The French Magazine, Point Due Vue, reported on Monday that Prince Albert of Monaco will marry sometime in September. The prince will marry his girlfriend, South African Olympic swimmer, Charlene Wittstock.
Prince Albert has been portrayed as a playboy by the media and has reportedly dated lots of models in the past. He was first spotted with Wittstock, 30, at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Olympics.
The prince, who turns 50 tomorrow, has two illegitimate children from separate lovers. The children will not be allowed to take over the throne due to a strict succession rule of the strict Roman Catholic nation. The succession rule requires children to be born during wedlock and only "direct and legitimate" descendants can assume the throne.
Monaco's last celebrated wedding was in 1956, when Albert's father Ranier married American Oscar-nominated actress, Grace Kelly.
