Azerbaijan, Baku, July 7 / Trend M.Aliyev /
A new system to manage water levels will be established in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyngulu Bagirov told journalists on Wednesday.
"The need to create a centralized system to manage water levels arose after the recent floods in the country. The system will allow to prepare for such incidents in the future," Bagirov said.
The country will update meteo-systems that will switch to automatic mode, and create modern systems of measurement of water depth and flow velocity, he said.
"Azerbaijan needs to enhance surveillance network in this area and its centralization," he added.
Bagirov said uniform rules will be applied to implement centralized monitoring.
