About 70 percent of entrants participating in the exams in the second group of specialties, are graduates of secondary schools this year, chairman of the State for Students Admission Commission Maleyka Abbaszadeh told media.
"In 2010, about 28,072 entrants confirmed electronic statements to participate in entrance examinations, of which 17,882 people - graduated school this year," Abbaszadeh said.
She said that about 24,732 people of the total number of entrants entering the second group are the applicants of the Azerbaijani sector, 3,340 - Russian sector.
About 26,814 entrants pass entrance examinations in Baku, in Nakhchivan - 1,258.
The oldest entrant in the second group of specialties was born in 1956, the youngest - in 1995.
The choice of specialties on all groups will begin July 25 and runs until August 2.
