A cooperation agreement was signed today by the Dagestan and Trend news agencies.

According to the agreement, the sides will regularly exchange news, analytical materials, and photographs about politics, society and culture in Dagestan and Azerbaijan.

The news agencies will also cooperate closely to provide informational support about the visits of heads of states and official delegations to Dagestan and Azerbaijan, as well as cover other intergovernmental events and activities.

The Dagestan Republic News Agency was established by the Dagestani National Policy, Information and Foreign Relations Ministry on March 15, 2005.

The news agency collects and distributes financial and economic news from the Dagestani Presidential Administration, government, national assembly, ministries and departments, and industrial enterprises. The news agency's website (www.RiaDagestan.Ru) is one of the most popular information resources in Russia's Southern Federal District, and also in the top five most cited resources in the region.

Founded in 1995 as a private media outlet, Trend is a leading news provider in the Caucasus and the Caspian region.

The portal www.Trend.Az produces roughly 500 articles daily in five languages, including English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Persian and Arabic.
