EU will provide grant to Azerbaijan for agricultural staff training

In 2011, the European Union will allocate a grant worth 1.2 million euro to Azerbaijan to improve the training process in agriculture, Azerbaijani Education Ministry's Vocational Education Department head Namig Mammadov told Trend on Saturday.

The project conducted within the framework of the EU Twinning Program Project stipulates training of professionals in the agriculture field

"The project will analyze the labor market in the country and develop curricula for certain specialties selected according to this analysis," Mammadov said.

The EU Twinning Program Project

for Azerbaijan was launched in 2004. Today, the twinning program is applied in countries that have expressed their consent to the implementation of the EU European Neighborhood Policy - Mediterranean countries, Ukraine, Moldova and South Caucasus countries.

At present, Azerbaijan has 107 vocational education institutions, of which 47 - professional high schools and 60 - professional schools. In vocational and educational institutions are being trained over 23,000 people in 101 specialties.
