Chairman of the illegal Islamic Party of Azerbaijan (IPA) Astara region organization Ruhulla Akhundzadeh has today been arrested. Akhundzadeh is accused of the Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office reported.
The Astara Region Police Department's officers found four machine "AKM", nine grenades, "F1" and "RGD-5" , ten fuses UZRGM, two 200-grams TNT blocks, three bullet magazines and 491 cartridges of various calibres, and seven CD-ROM drive and other items at Akhundzadeh's house and yard. The specialists blew nine fuses and one grenade RGD-5 for security.
The Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office's Investigative Office for Heinous Crimes continues the investigation into the fact.
