Azerbaijan began to discharge the education sphere's workers, who have reached the age of 65, Education Minister Misir Mardanov told journalists today. He said about 17,000 employees are expected to be dismissed.
"We do not intend to carry out this process in a day, we will carry out it gradually," Mardanov said.
He said if the education intuitions will face a problem with the staff due to the dismissal of the employees, who have reached the age of 65, it will be temporarily stopped.
Mardanov said this step is aimed at attracting new personnel in the education system.
"We conduct this work with a view to ensure that education has gained a second wind and attract the young cadres. So we should carry out this process in no haste. We will not achieve anything, dismissing all of the workers," Maradanov said.
