SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, September 27. The cherished memory of the 44-day Second Karabakh War martyrs has been honored in liberated Shusha city, as in all regions of Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The event marking the Day of Remembrance has gathered together employees of the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, the Shusha State Reserve Department, law enforcement agencies, as well as schoolchildren and local residents.
The participants laid flowers at the memorial plaque on the Alley of Martyrs in Shusha.
The prayers were offered for the repose of the martyr souls, and then schoolchildren recited patriotic poems.
At 12:00 (GMT+4) in Shusha city and across the nation, a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the martyrs.
According to the decree of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, Azerbaijan annually celebrates Remembrance Day on September 27 as a sign of deep respect for Azerbaijani soldiers and officers who heroically fought in the 44-day Second Karabakh War and gave their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
