BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. Expenditures of the state budget of Azerbaijan are expected to equal 36.35 million manat ($21.38 million), which is 30.7 percent of GDP, in 2024, Trend reports via the Ministry of Finance.
According to the ministry, of this amount, 22.6 million manat ($13.3 million) will be allocated for current expenditures, 11.7 million manat ($6.9 million) for essential expenditures, and 1.97 million manat ($1.16 million) for expenses related to servicing the state debt and obligations.
In terms of functional classification, next year, 7.38 million manat ($4.37 million) of the expenditures are planned to be allocated for economic activities, 4.8 million manat ($2.88 million) for public services, and 6.4 million manat ($3.79 million) for defense and national security.
Besides, 1.87 million manat ($1.1 million) is planned to be allocated for healthcare, and 4.5 million manat ($2.68 million) social protection and social security, 2.9 million manat ($1.75 million) judiciary, law enforcement, and prosecutor's bodies, 574.8 million manat ($339.93 million) - culture, arts, information, physical education, and youth policy, 1.39 million manat ($825.11 million)—services not related to the main sections, and 364.8 million manat ($215.89 million)—housing and communal services.
In 2022, Azerbaijan's total state budget expenditures reached 32.06 billion manat ($18.86 billion), up by 4.64 million manat ($2.73 million) or 16.9 percent compared to 2021.
