Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I. Khalilova / Azerbaijan's 'Azneftkimyamash' JSC and Kazakhstan's 'Kazpetromash', 'Kazneftgasmash' OSC, and Sewon - Vertex Heavy Industry signed a memorandum on joint activities with regards to oil machine-building and joint production of oil and gas equipment, a source in the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Foundation (AZPROMO) said.
The signing of the memorandum took place on 24 October within the visit of the Kazakh delegation to Azerbaijan. From the Azerbaijani side, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Mikail Jabbarov, the President of AZPROMO, Emil Mejidov, and Head of the AZPROMO Office in Kazakhstan, Elshad Gurbanov.
"According to the decision of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan made within the recent official visit of Azerbaijan President, Ilham Aliyev, to Astana, the parties have agreed to strengthen their cooperation with regards to oil machine-building and joint production of oil and gas equipment," Gurbanov said.
Initiated by the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Akimata Mangistaus, the region of Kazakhstan and AZPROMO organized a mission of specialists of 'Azneftkimyamash', who arrived in Aktau on 10-12 October and became familiarized with the production potential of the region and suggested ways for future cooperation.
The Kazakh delegation which arrived in Baku was headed by the Chief of the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship of Akimata Mangistaus region, Adlibey Kusherov. The delegation included heads and specialists of the leading machine-building plants of Western Kazakhstan.
"Finally we will cooperate with Kazakhstan at the level of contracts. Our target is the service sector which provides to the oil and gas sector," Mejidov said.
In accordance with this memorandum, Azerbaijani and Kazakh companies will jointly define future projects.
