Romania's minister of economy to arrive in Azerbaijan

Romania's delegation headed by minister of economy Adrian Videanu will arrive in Baku with official visit early in July, Romania's embassy in Azerbaijan said on June 22.

Meeting of Azerbaijani-Romania's intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation will be held On July 1-3 within official visit. Co-chairman is Videanu.

Being uninformed the embassy did not inform about staff of delegation and agenda of the visit.

Mutually realized projects, as well as development and intensifying of bilateral elations in all spheres will be discussed during meeting, state secretary for strategic affairs of Romania's foreign ministry Bogdan Auresku said during recent working visit to Azerbaijan. Documents are planned to be signed during expected visit of Azerbaijani president to Romania. These documents will be considered, state secretary said. 

"I hope Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev will visit Romania with official visit in autumn. It will be good opportunity to strengthen strategic cooperation between countries officially. Auresku said that relations between Romania and Azerbaijan are at top level, level of strategic cooperation.   

"We are close to our strategic cooperation. Number of meetings at top level is very important. Romania's president and Azerbaijan's president have good relations," Romania's foreign ministry's state secretary said.

Connection between financial-banking institutes of both countries is established within the inter-governmental commission. The agreement signed between the Azerbaijani International Bank and Romania's EximBank envisages insurance and guarantee support of goods export and services both in Romania and Azerbaijan, as we as provision with goods and services from these countries.

Normative-legal base between countries hits over 50 agreements in different spheres.

Turnover between Azerbaijan and Romania hits $54.6 million in January-April 2009. Turnover hits $193 million in 2008.
