In January to July 2009 the amount of industrial production in Azerbaijan composed 11.3 billion manat, which is 0.1 percent more than the same period of 2008, State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.
The amount of production in the extractive industry increased 1.6 percent to 8.205 billion manat (72.5% of the gross industrial production). Ag the same time the growth rate in the processing industry declined 8 percent to 2.39 billion manat (21.5 percent), and in power engineering, gas and water sectors - 710.2 million, a decrease of 4.9 percent (6.3 percent).
The growth in the oil production was 1.6 percent, in gas production - 1.6 percent, but a 10.3 percent reduction was recorded in oil refinery.
The specific weight of the industrial production and services in the private sector made up 78.3 percent (8.86 billion manat).
The current exchange rate of US dollar was 0.8040 manat on Aug. 17.
