Turkmenistan intends to continue updating its civil aircraft fleet by purchasing more Boeing planes, President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov said, noting the "high quality and reliability of Boeing aircrafts." The country earlier bought Boeing jets.

He added that the purchased aircrafts comply with international standards in terms of increased security, convenience and comfort, the Turkmenistan-4 television channel reported.

Berdimuhammedov discussed further cooperation with Boeing at a meeting with Vice President Marty Bentrot in Ashgabat.

Boeing has operated in Turkmenistan since the 1990s, and regularly replenishes the fleet of the Turkmenhovayollari airline. Numerous domestic and international routes have been opened from Ashgabat since the fall of the Soviet Union.

Berdimuhammedov stressed his "interest ... in the establishment of productive collaboration" with the company.
