Tbilisi has held the opening ceremony of the new factory of German company Knauf for the production of gypsum today. It was opened by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia.

Tbilisi has held the opening ceremony of the new factory of German company Knauf for the production of gypsum today. It was opened by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia.

She said that the opening of each factory is very important for the whole of Georgia.

"About 160 people will work at this enterprise. The products will be sold not only here but also exported to different countries. Opening of the factory is another brilliant example for investors. I am confident that Georgia will have more investments," the minister said.

Knauf purchased in Tbilisi a plasterboard factory and reconstructed it December 29, 2009. More than 20 million euros were invested. A plaster factory is also under construction. About $ 5 million was invested.

The factory can produce 6 million square meters of plates.
