The repercussions of the Arab Spring are to be discussed at the World Economic Forum's special conference scheduled for October 21-23 in Jordan, an official said Tuesday.

"The recent changes and challenges in the Middle East will be the focus of discussions of the WEF conference," said Nasser Lawzi, an official from the King Abdullah Development Fund, the main sponsor of the meeting, DPA reported.

Emerging investment opportunities and the rising political challenges in the region were to be discussed at the meeting, Lawzi said.

The meeting, to be held under the slogan Economic Growth and Job Creation in the Arab World, was originally scheduled for May, but was postponed because of the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, which were followed by widening unrest in other Arab nations.
