In January-November, the cargo transportation by all transport means made up 192.6 million tons of cargo or 3.4 percent more than during the same period in 2011, the State Statistics Committee told Trend .
The private sector's share in cargo transportation was 74.2 percent. Of the total cargo volume transported, 56.1 percent accounted for road transport, 27.1 percent - pipelines, 10.9 percent - railway and 5.9 percent - by sea.
The passenger transportation in Jan.-Nov. totaled 1.5 billion people, which is 8.4 percent more than during the same period of 2011. Passenger transportation by automobile was 87.6 percent, metro - 12.1 percent.
About 21 million tons of cargo were transported by railway in January-November, showing a 4.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The cargo shipping via sea hit 11.4 million tons or 0.2 percent more than in the same period of 2011. The volume of transported goods fall to the international operations.
The volume of cargo processed in Azerbaijani ports was 10.9 million tons in January-November, which is 0.1 percent more than the same period of 2011.
The cargo transported by vehicles made up 108.1 million tons of cargo or 7.6 percent more than the same period of 2011. Passenger transportation comprised 1.3 billion people (a 8.7 percent increase) with 96.3 percent people using buses and 3.7 percent people - vehicles.
About 177 million passengers used metro or seven percent more than last year.
About 1.5 million people were transported by aircrafts, or 14.5 percent more compared to the same period of last year. The private sector's share in this type of transport hit 1.5 percent.
About 47 million tons of cargo were transported through Azerbaijan via the Eurasian transport corridor in January-November or 5.3 percent more than the same period of 2011. Roughly 216. 3 million passengers were transported within the corridor, which is eight percent more than in January-November 2011.
