The Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development has determined the supplier of equipment and communications operations in connection with the creation and implementation of a unified information network to deploy e-services, the ministry's tender commission said today.

According to the tender commission's evaluation, CASPEL has been chosen as a preferred supplier of equipment and communication services.

At present, the ministry's paperwork has completely switched to an electronic format and a corporate e-signature applied. The ministry created a hardware and software infrastructure after acquiring the necessary licenses for systems and server platforms. A DATA-centre was created to establish efficient and uninterrupted operations of an electronic control system which includes electronic paperwork, covering the chancellery and related processes, human resource management, financial and accounting systems.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development intends continuing the expansion of the electronic service coverage.

Electronic services are rendered under a presidential decree dated May 23, 2011 entitled 'Some measures in the field of rendering electronic services by state agencies'.

According to this document there is a section of e-services including online and informative e-services on the website of the ministry. While using them entrepreneurs can submit the necessary documents to the Ministry, pay state fees and other charges online, or send the documents confirming the payment, as well as obtain licenses and ministry certificates.
