Cars account for 57 percent of Georgian export to Azerbaijan

Around 41,160 cars worth $369.82 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-November 2013.

Around 41,160 cars worth $369.82 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-November 2013, GruzStat, the Georgian Statistics Service said on Dec.28.

According to the report, the share of this category of goods in the total volume of Georgian exports to Azerbaijan in the reporting period amounted to 57.15 percent.

The exports of passenger cars from Georgia increased by 16.48 percent, or by 7,890 units in quantitative terms compared to the same period of 2012. By comparison, around 33,270 cars worth $317.5 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-November 2012.

Around 3,590 trucks worth $23.11 million were exported to Azerbaijan in the first 11 months of 2013, or by 13.22 percent less, in quantitative terms - by 0,740 units more compared to the same period of 2012. By comparison, around 2,850 trucks worth $26.63 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-November 2012.

Totally some $647.06 million worth of goods were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan during the reporting period which accounts for 24.7 percent of the total volume of the country's exports during the reporting period.

Exports to Azerbaijan increased by 11.8 percent compared to the same period of 2012. By comparison, Georgian goods worth $578.18 million were exported to Azerbaijan in January-November 2012.

These cars are delivered to Georgia from abroad.
