China’s Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited (CERI) will supply technological equipment for production of wire rod at a metallurgical plant in the Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan and carry out the installation supervision, the plant’s management told Trend Apr. 24.
The cost of the project is $19.9 million and it is planned to produce 100,000 tons of wire rod per year.
The project, earlier approved by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is expected to be implemented by late 2018.
It will be financed through a $10-million loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, loans of domestic banks worth $5.19 million and the plant’s own funds.
The metallurgical plant in the Tashkent Region was commissioned in 1956.
