The agricultural production value stood at 288.8 million manats in Azerbaijan in January 2018, which is by 4.3 percent more than in the same period last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said in a report.
The crop production increased by 33.5 percent, while livestock production – 3.6 percent in the reporting period.
Some 39,400 tons of meat, 151,100 tons of milk, 168.6 million eggs were produced in the country in January 2018. Compared to January 2017, production of meat grew 3.4 percent, milk - by 0.6 percent, eggs - by 16 percent.
According to preliminary information, an area of 991,200 hectares has been prepared for planting of spring cereal grains this year, 67.2 percent of which was allocated for wheat, 32.7 percent for barley, and 0.1 percent for rye. In January of this year, 9,500 tons of vegetables were harvested in greenhouses.
