In January 2018, Turkmenistan allocated 81.3 percent of funds from the expenditure part of the state budget to finance the social sector, the Central Bank of Turkmenistan said in a message Feb. 27.
“In the reporting period, wages, pensions, state allowances and student scholarships were timely paid,” the message said.
In January 2018, as part of implementation of the National Rural Development Program in Turkmenistan, the work was carried out to construct 60 facilities for various purposes, 31 water and sewage treatment facilities, as well as engineering systems.
Under the Law on State Budget for 2018, adopted by the Turkmen parliament, the state budget revenues were approved at 95.508 billion Turkmen manats. Expenditures were approved in the same amount.
The official exchange rate of the Turkmen manat against US dollar has remained unchanged since January 2015 at 1 USD = 3.5 TMT.
